What is Legatus MUN?
Legatus Model United Nations is a two-day international United Nations simulation for high school students which, in light of the pandemic, is to be held on video-conferencing platform Zoom. At Legatus MUN, delegates shall gain awareness on the dynamics of the United Nations by assuming the roles of world leaders and international decision makers.
It is an exciting opportunity for young leaders to debate the most pressing issues of the day and to draft innovative solutions to world issues. Participants will develop several skills throughout this process, including leadership skills, public speaking, negotiation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Legatus seeks to establish a constructive assembly for open dialogue on a variety of complex issues, including international peace, human rights and socio-economic progress. We ask delegates to think critically about the world that surrounds them and to think in new and ambitious ways. Delegates leave our conference with a new-found passion for diplomacy and greater awareness of the problems that prevail in our world. With the first conference being a massive success with hundreds of delegates, there is no doubt that Legatus has made a longlasting impact on online Model UN.
